Futures is delighted to have been selected as a finalist in the category of Excellence in Collaboration at East Midlands Chamber’s Business Awards in Nottinghamshire on 1st November 2024.
Following takeover of the D2N2 Public Services Compact, Futures formed a collaborative partnership with Nottingham Universities Hospitals Trust, the largest employer in the EMMCA area, and one of the largest NHS Trust in the country with some 19,000 employees. Collectively, these three organisations are nominated for their outstanding efforts to combine forces and support the local community.
Like most NHS hospitals, NUH faced significant recruitment and skills challenges, including in two key entry level positions: administrators and health care assistants.
Working collaboratively with NUH, Futures devised a targeted recruitment and training programme designed to source candidates from disadvantaged and underrepresented groups, address their barriers to employment, provide accredited training and qualifications, and interact with NUH as an employer - ultimately leading to a guaranteed interview with the Trust.
Since inception of the programme, 170 people have secured employment with NUH with a total of 221 people securing qualifications enabling them to move into relevant employment.
