Learner 

  • To attend the allocated training course and for online courses to log into Equal at least 3 days per week to complete learning and work toward your planned end date and to the best of their ability commit to:
    • being hardworking and punctual at all times
    • being respectful of others, including, but not limited to, colleagues, employers, learners, and delivery staff at all times.
  • To represent Futures Advice, Skills, and Employment (Futures) in a professional manner at all times including during attendance at interview(s)
  • To attend planned appointments/sessions as agreed
  • To produce evidence, undertake assessments and keep appropriate records to contribute towards the training course as agreed.
  • To take part in and contribute to the review process.
  • To notify Futures as soon as possible should you be unable to attend any scheduled training sessions, reviews, assessments etc. by using the contact numbers provided.
  • To notify Futures of any changes in health which may affect your learning.
  • To notify Futures of any changes in your personal details or circumstances. Any changes to the details recorded on your Adult Skills
  • Enrolment Form must be communicated to Futures for Futures to maintain your records and ensure your details are recorded accurately and kept up to date.  
  • To report any accidents or near misses to Futures
  • To report concerns or suspected activities involving Safeguarding of themselves or colleagues to the appropriate nominated person
  • Behave in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the Health and Safety requirements of the Employer and Workplace Provider in addition to general Health and Safety Legislation 

For remote learning courses using the Equal platform you agree:

  • To submit work that sufficiently meets the criteria, in a maximum of three submission attempts (1 initial submission + 2 resubmissions where required). In situations where criteria are not met by the third submission, a “fail” grade will be awarded. Further submission windows may be granted in special circumstances, which will be reviewed and considered on an individual basis.
  • To submit work by the due dates agreed at the start of the course (due dates for each qualification unit can be viewed on the Equal platform).
  • Extensions to due dates can be agreed in certain circumstances (e.g. illness, family bereavement, etc.) however, these must be agreed with the
  • Tutor and approved ahead of the due date where reasonably possible.
  • To submit high-quality work that is written in your own words, free of plagiarism, and in line with Futures Plagiarism Policy.
     

Futures Advice Skills and Employment (Futures) 

  • To ensure that the training meets the requirements set out in the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) Funding Rules
  • To provide an appropriate and safe learning environment (where applicable), ensuring safeguarding and prevent duties are maintained (including e-safety) and British Values are promoted.
  • To appoint suitably qualified assessors / trainers to undertake the training delivery to the Learner.
  • To advise the Learner of contact details for nominated assessors, tutors, and support staff responsible for the relevant training and IAG and notify of any changes within a reasonable timeframe.
  • To create and submit ILR details to the ESFA in order to claim eligible funding via the ESFA Adult Skills Fund contract issued to Futures.
  • To process all data in accordance with the General Data Protection Act (GDPR)
  • Where learners are not eligible for full funding from the ESFA, Futures will waive any contribution from the learner and/or employer so no fee contribution will be collected from either party. 
     

General Rules of Behaviour 

  • Any non-prescribed drugs or alcohol will not be allowed on the premises or within virtual learning environments at any time.  
  • Violent or Abusive behaviour will NOT be tolerated.  
  • All media, used for learning or training brought in should NOT be distasteful.
  • Mobile phones should be kept to silent, and any “necessary” calls should be taken away from other learners.
  • Learners should be engaged throughout their learning experience and where remote learning is being undertaken, cameras should be used throughout (unless exceptional circumstances)
