  • I'm actively seeking employment OR earning below £25,000 annually

Our Level 1 certificate is designed to offer routes into various rewarding careers within care homes, hospitals, the community and specialist respite centres.

What will the course cover?

The qualification cover the following units:

  • Understanding the Range of Service Provision and Roles
  • Understanding the Principles and Values
  • Awareness of Protection and Safeguarding
  • Introduction to Communication
  • Introduction to Mental Health
  • Introduction to Dementia
  • Introductory Awareness of Equality and Inclusion
  • Introductory Awareness of Health and Safety
  • Introductory Awareness of Person-Centred Support

What can I do next? 

Upon completion of your Level 1 Certificate you have a number of new opportunities: 

  • Apply for a number of entry level roles; Care Assistant, Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant
  • Apply for a Level 2 or 3 apprenticeship
  • Access further education courses
