  • I have lived in the UK or EU/EEA for the last 3 years
  • I'm aged 19 or over on 31st August 2024
  • I'm actively seeking employment OR earning below £25,000 annually

These courses give you the skills and qualifications you need to start your journey in becoming a Teaching Assistant. 

Courses are available online or face-to-face at our Nottingham Training Centre. Classroom-based learning runs from 9:30am to 2:30pm. You chosen course will take approximately 14 days to complete. 

Courses available: 

  • Level 1 Preparation to Work in Schools
  • Level 2 Supporting work in Schools and College

What will the course cover?

These course cover some of the skills needed to work in the classroom and fulfil many different roles when working directly with children and young people. Some topics include: 

  • How to support a child or young person's well-being 
  • How to communicate with children, young people, and adults
  • How to keep children and young people safe and healthy

In addition to the Level 1 or 2 qualification, you will also gain: 

  • Level 1 Health and Nutrition
  • Level 1 Safeguarding qualifications

Please note these coures do not require you to undertake a practical placement. 

Before starting this program you will be invited to join us for an information session to tell you about the courses and asked to complete a quick Maths and English assessment to ensure this program is right for you.
